Meet Cheerio and Gracie!

You can choose to have emotional support dogs Cheerio (left) and Gracie (right) during sessions

About the Dogs

Cheerio and Gracie are Yorkie Poos (a cross between a Yorkshire Terrier and Toy Poodle). Cheerio is a bit older than Gracie, and they are half sisters. They have been through obedience school and are therapy dogs-in-training. Cheerio is known for her calm, comforting demeanor and Gracie shares her uplifting energy and spirited enthusiasm.

Why Emotional Support Dogs?

Many clients find that they are able to dig deeper and release more emotion with Cheerio and Gracie in the room. Indeed, many find that emotional support dogs contribute to the feeling of safety, security, and unconditional acceptance in the therapy session.

Are you allergic to pet dander? Yorkie Poos are naturally hypo-allergenic, and many people with severe allergies find that they do not have symptoms with Cheerio and Gracie in the room. If you are concerned about pet allergies, please know that the therapy room is cleaned frequently and you can choose not to have the dogs in your session.

Customized Therapy

Emotional support dogs are one of many ways that I customize treatment to meet each individual's needs. By no means must Cheerio and Gracie be part of your customized therapy plan. Feel free to let me know whether or not you would like them to be involved in your sessions.
